A young man is now dead, and three others are injured after a race with his brother ended in a fatal car accident in San Bernardino Wednesday night. San Bernardino Police stated that two brothers were allegedly racing a 1992 Mitsubishi GT on Highland Avenue when the driver lost control and crashed head-on with a 2011 Toyota Corolla.
The driver of the Mitsubishi was later identified by the county coroner as 19-year-old Mark Jimenez of San Bernardino. Officials stated that Jimenez was killed on impact, but his brother not a single injury from the accident. Three other occupying the Mitsubishi were transported to a local medical center where they were treated for injuries sustained in the accident.
The driver of the Corolla was identified 23-year-old Francisca Vargas of San Bernardino and had sustained critical injuries. It’s tragic that young Mark Jimenez lost his life that day, his family and friends gathered where the crash took in a memorial service.
