The Town's Street Department's three-person crew is responsible for a myriad of duties:

Street Sweeping The cleaning of all Town-maintained streets and parking lots.
Trash Removal Program The Trash Removal Program within the Town of Estes Park consists of cleaning parking lots each morning and the putting up and taking down seasonal trash cans. After the summer season, each trash can is cleaned with a steamer and stored for use the following year. The Town contracts privately with Waste Management for the actual downtown trash pickup.
Street and Traffic Sign Replacement This is an important part of the Street Department's responsibilities. It includes replacing faded or discolored signs within Town limits and the installation of signs as authorized by the Public Works Committee.
Street Maintenance Program The Street Maintenance Program is the department's miscellaneous program. A major portion of the work involves such things as bollard repairs, curb markings and related work. The majority of money spent in this program pertains to helping other departments.
Shouldering Program This program involves shouldering new overlays and isolated spots where there have been drainage problems.
Patching Program The Patching Program encompasses the widening of streets for drainage curbs, pothole patching with either hot or cold mix, depending upon the season. Most asphalt patches that involve the removal of asphalt are patched by a contractor.
Painting Program Estes Park's Painting Program consists of red curb, parking stalls in all Town lots, crosswalks, stop bars, right arrows, left arrows and straight arrows.
Crack seal program
Drainage Program The Drainage Program consists of cleaning culverts, re-grading ditches and constructing asphalt curbs.
Dump Site Cleaning Program This program consists of general clean-up and screening of all debris piles.
Departmental Continuing Education All of the Street Department employees attend regular safety and training classes. They include courses in CPR, defensive driving, proper equipment usage, Hazmat, computer training and many others.
Snow removal The Snow Removal Program within the Town of Estes Park consists of cleaning all Town-maintained streets, cul-de-sacs, parking lots, sidewalks, ridge removal and hike and bike trails.
