Estes Park Police Department's

Citizens Police Academy

The Citizens Police Academy, established in 1997, was developed to enhance the partnership between community members and the Estes Park Police Department. Officers offer the Academy participants an excellent opportunity to learn more about the daily operations of the police department and experience conditions similar to the training they receive.2002 Building Searches

The ten-week academy curriculum includes instruction in DUI Enforcement, Constitutional Law, Use of Force issues, Accident Investigation, Communications Center, Crime prevention and more. Academy members can ride along in a patrol car to experience first hand the activities police officers are called upon to manage.

The Estes Park Police Department currently offers one Academy annually. There is no cost, just an eagerness to learn about our police services.  The Academy will run from January 14- March 17, 2008 on Monday nights from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm See the 2008 Curriculum.

For more information or to submit an application to attend the Citizen's Police Academy, please contact Amanda Nagl at (970)577-3822 or if you are interested in attending the Academy applications are available at the Estes Park Police Department at 170 MacGregor Ave.
