March 31, 2010 Please note that there will not be restroom and shower facilities available for people camping in RVs at the fairgrounds during the Wool Market. Unfortunately the restroom building is in a construction site. We will update you if this changes.

 

NEW IN 2010: Workshop and show participants will be able to use credit cards to pay for their fees. The fairgrounds office is able to accept VISA, Mastercard and Discover. However, credit cards cannot be accepted for the Alpaca Fleece Show, Alpaca Performance Show, the Goat Registry Workshop or the Paco-Vicuña Show. Please see the payment arrangements accompanying each show's general information for additional details.

 

This week's featured instructor is: Ann McCauley

Ann is the author of The Pleasures of Knitting: Timeless Feminine Sweaters and Together or Separate: Knitting the New Twinset. Ann can be seen in the Knitty Gritty episode known as Delightful Details. She teaches knitting locally and nationally at yarn shops, guilds, and large knitting events as well as teaching for Stitches West and East. She has also designed for Louet Yarn Company.

 

Be sure to visit her website at www.annmccauleyknits.com. This year she will be teaching "The Well-Sweatered Approach" on Thursday, June 10th.

l  "FIRST TIMERS" HANDSPUN CLASSIFICATION

In 2010 we are introducing a new category in the Handspun Yarn Contest. This will be an opportunity for new spinners and fiber enthusiasts entering their skein contest for the first time. Debi Dodge has graciously offered to donate a $25 prize to the winner of this classification.

 

l  CHANGE IN ALPACA FLEECE SHOW RULES

Length of Fiber: Huacaya: Minimum length of entire fleece presented to be three inches with no maximum under first birthday, with a maximum of eight inches for first birthday and older. Suri: Minimum length of entire fleece presented to be three inches with no maximum under second birthday, with  maximum of nine inches for second birthday and older.
