| A staff of three maintains the Town of Estes Park's nearly 400 pieces of equipment,
with one seasonal helper on staff during the summer months. The Fleet Maintenance Department works with 10 user departments including:
Police, Fire, Museum, Community Development, Streets, Parks, Light and Power,
Water, Conference Center and Special Events. The current Fleet Maintenance staff is trained in maintaining and repairing a
variety of Town equipment. Among their many responsibilities are Police and Fire
equipment, Light and Power aerial bucket devices and line equipment, including a
variety of trailers, 15 pieces of snow removal equipment, street sweepers,
loaders, backhoes, and an assortment of turf equipment. All Fleet repairs, as well as fuel and equipment expenses are tracked by a
fleet maintenance computer software system that gives up-to-date information of
equipment operating costs. The in-house inventory of tires, maintenance and repair parts is maintained
and managed by the Fleet staff. The Town shares in a joint effort to decrease the need for fuel storage in
Estes Park by fueling all of its equipment at the Larimer County and the Park
School District fuel sites. The Fleet Maintenance Department strives to provide the best quality
maintenance possible for its customers.
