Estes Park Volunteer Fire Department
Estes Park is fortunate to have a dedicated group of individuals who form our
Volunteer Fire Department. The Estes Park Volunteer Fire Department serves an
area covering approximately 100 square miles. Currently the Department is made
up of 35 dedicated volunteers.
Here’s a quick rundown of some of the services provided by the EPVFD :
Structural Fire
Fighting
Wildfire Suppression
Dive and Swift Water
Rescue
Emergency Medical Services
Low Angle
Rescue
Fire Prevention
Vehicular Extractions and Rescues Hazardous
Materials Incidents
The Department volunteers are currently improving their skills through
training in transporting water via a shuttle system. This, along with
acquisition of the new 2000 American LaFrance Engine/Tender, will not only
improve their fire protection capabilities, but will assist in the lowering of
the ISO rating in areas not served by our water hydrant system. A lower ISO
rating can result in lower insurance premiums for property owners in these
areas.
