A third phase (late ‘80s) included major parking lot
redevelopment of the post office parking lot, the Dark Horse parking lot,
on-going river corridor beautification, plus the new “Riverwalk I project east
of the post office parking lot. By the spring of 1988, Riverside Plaza was
completed. Plans for extending the Riverwalk east and west of the plaza
continued. Tregent Park, Peacock Park and other visitor amenities were also
completed.
